Crafty Festival Christmas Club June 2020 Blog Hop

Image
Hey everybody! On the 25th of each month Crafty Festival hosts a holiday blog hop. I think this is nice because instead of forcing yourself to make a bunch of holiday cards in one or two months it spaces the work throughout over year. Check out the Crafty Festival Facebook page for more information on the Christmas Club blog hop and other blog hops here.  This card is definitely one of my more simple cards compared to my other recent creations. Sometimes its therapeutic to make an easier card after a long day at work...
This month I decided to use some festive items from my retired stash. The Filled with Love stamp set is from the Simon Says Stamp Stamptember 2019 Collaboration with Heffy Doodle and it is unfortunately no longer available. I colored the cute holiday critters sticking out of the stockings with my Copic markers. The colors I used on the critters are listed at the end of this blog post. The striped cardstock used on the card base and the envelope liner is from the retired…

Kindred Stamps June 2020 Release - Manor Haunts & Happy After Life

Image
Hi everyone! It's Kindred Stamps release week! I'm so excited to share with you my second sneak peak from the Kindred Stamps June 2020 monthly release.  Check out my first sneak peak here. Today I am sharing four projects I created with the Manor Haunts and Happy Afterlife stamp sets. All the characters were colored with my Copic sketch markers. I had a lot  of fun coloring the ghostly characters with my B and BG colors. Manor Hauntswill be available for purchase on the Kindred Stamps website on Friday, June 26th at 8 AM PST.
Project 1My first card features a mystical fortune teller in a crystal ball. The curtains and end table I cut with my Cricut Explore Air 2. I used Copic markers and Distress Oxide ink to shade and distress the cricut images. After coloring the fortune teller I used Liquid Glass on the crystal ball to give it a glossy look. I used white embossing powder to heat emboss the sentiment "spirits from beyond tell me." On the inside of the card I used t…

Swingin' by to say hi!

Image
Hi everyone! Thanks for stopping by my blog. Today I wanted to share this adorable swinging card that I made. I was inspired by the Man in Motion card made by Pineapple Incidents. Check out his blog post here. He provides detailed instruction on how to make the swinging mechanism.
The stamp sets used on this card are from the Taylored Expressions, The tree and the swing are from the Treetops Background stamp set and the critters and sentiment are from the Swinging By stamp set. Taylored Expressions also sells an On a Hinge die that can be used to make the swinging mechanism. All the images were colored with Copic markers. Finally, I created the sky background with the My Favorite Things Cloud stencil and Tumbled Glass Distress oxide ink.

Kindred Stamps June 2020 Release - Happily Ever After

Image
Hi everyone! It's Kindred Stamps release week! I'm so excited to share with you my first sneak peak from the Kindred Stamps June 2020 monthly release. Today I am sharing the projects I created with the Happily Ever After sentiment stamp set. This stamp set perfectly coordinates with all the other fairytale stamp sets from Kindred Stamps. I made enough projects to show off all of the sentiments included in the stamp set. All the characters were colored with my Copic sketch markers. At the end of the blog post I have included a product list of the items used to create these projects. Happily Ever After will be available for purchase on the Kindred Stamps website on Friday, June 26th at 8 AM PST.
Project 1 For my first project I used the Whimsical Garden stencil and Thermoweb Jade Deco Foil transfer sheets to create the card background. I heat embossed the sentiment "Chase Your Dreams" with a rose gold embossing powder. The character on the front of this card is from the…

1 Stamp Set 1 Card Blog Hop with Handmade Happiness

Image
Hi everyone today I'm participating in the 1 Stamp 1 Card Blog Hop hosted by Handmade Happiness. Handmade Happiness is for crafters that want to participate in hops and collaborations. All cardmakers with YouTube channels, blogs or social media accounts are welcome. Check the Facebook group out here. Check out the other  hop participants on youtube and social media by following the hashtag #1stampset1cardhop . Rules of the 1 Stamp 1 Card Hop The rules of the challenge are quite simple. You must use the WHOLE stamp set on your card front!
But here are more details on the rules: 1. The stamp set must be no smaller than 4 inches by 6 inches but it can be bigger. 2. The stamp set must include at least one sentiment and one image, so a single background stamp doesn’t count! 3. When you create your card, it must make use of all stamps in the set to include ALL the sentiments, twigs, leaves, flowers, flourishes, texture dots, lines and scribbles. 4. You are allowed to use no less than 50% of a…

KS June Wacky Holiday Stamp Set - Postal Worker Appreciation Day

Image
Kindred Stamps is celebrating National Postal Worker Appreciation Day (July 1st) for the Wacky Holiday monthly stamp set. This character can be colored to illustrate any delivery service or your favorite stamp company! Wouldn't it be fun if Kindred Stamps personally delivered your goodies to straight to your doorstep?!? I've created three card projects to illustrate such a fantasy.
For my first project I used the new Mosaic Stencil and Distress Oxide inks to create the card background. I love this stencil because it can create a layered design (like on the card) or a one dimensional design (like on the envelope flap)! Next I used the Kindred Stamper stamp to embellish the coordinating envelope and to add "Kindred Stamps" to the delivery girl's hat. I used a black ink pen to write on the cardboard box to represent Kindred Stamps' awesome limited edition boxes!  For my next card I envisioned someone waiting on the front porch because their package is out for del…

Off to Space with Trinity Stamps

Image
Hi everyone. Today I'm sharing a creation that is out of this world! In celebration of the recent US space launch I made this stellar card using the Otter Space stamp set from Trinity Stamps.
I used Distress Oxides to ink blend the galaxy background. I also got to try the Brutus Monroe Night Shift Embossing Powder for the first time. When you hold the embossed section directly in front of you the sentiment looks black; however, if you tilt it slightly the sentiment changes to purple. Pretty neat! I colored the otters with my Copic markers. I added extra detail to characters by using liquid glass on the helmets. Finally, I adhered the otters to the card using foam dots for added dimension.
