Galaxy Star Lights with Chibitronics

Thank you for stopping by my blog! Today I am sharing a fun light-up galaxy card I made with Chibitronics sticker lights and Hero Arts Galaxy Peek A Boo Parts stamp set. Keep reading below for more details on how I made this card!

First, I heat embossed the galaxy design from the Galaxy Peek A Boo Parts stamp set with white embossing powder onto an A2 sized piece of ink blending cardstock. Next, I ink blended over the embossed background with Cracked Pistachio, Blueprint Sketch, Wilted Violet, Picked Raspberry and Black Soot Distress Oxide inks. To finish the background, I die cut the panel with the Distressed Edge Rectangle die to give it a torn edge look.
To create the light-up mechanism I used Chibitronics Yellow Sticker Lights and Copper Tape. I aligned the lights to be located underneath the stars to illuminate the sky. Check out the YouTube video below to see how I constructed the light up mechanism.
I heat embossed the sentiment onto a Flag Double Stitched die cut with white embossing powder onto black cardstock. I used the same technique to create the “Push Here” button using the Lawn Fawn Push Here stamp set. I colored the spacemen and rocket ship with my Copic markers. I used liquid glue to attach the images, the “Push Here” button, and the sentiment banner to the card front. To finish the card, I added clear sequins for embellishment.
