KS December 2020 Release – Vroom

Thanks for stopping by my blog! It’s the last day of the Kindred Stamps Release Week for November/December 2020! Today I am sharing a sneak peek of the brand new Vroom stamp set that features two iconic automobiles. This set and the rest of the release will be available on Friday, December 4th at 8 AM PST.

I made three projects featuring this stamp set. I colored the characters with my Copic Sketch alcohol markers. At the bottom of this blog post I included a coloring guide listing the markers I used for these characters.
Project 1
For my first card I put my sketching skills to the test by coloring this slimline highway scene all by hand. The colors I used are listed at the end of this blog post. I trimmed the design to be matted onto a black card base. I stamped and heat embossed the “Driving By to Say” sentiment with white embossing powder onto a black sentiment strip.
On the inside of the card I used Versafine pigment black ink to stamp the Happy Birthday sentiment. I also added a fun musical element! First I used the Spotify Codes website to create a Spotify search code, then I used Avery Sticker Paper and my Cricut Explore Air 2 to turn it into a sticker.

Project 2
For my second card I gave my best attempt at creating a checkered flag background. For added texture I ink blended with the Confetti stencil and Pumice Stone Oxide ink onto the solid red cardstock. I matted both the backgrounds onto a black card base. I distressed the edges of all of the layers with Black Soot Oxide ink. I stamped the sentiment with Versafine pigment black ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder onto the yellow shaped die cut. I die cut the gears out of silver foil cardstock and added gold gems for embellishment.
Project 3
I just love the rustic feel of this third project. I used Gina K. Designs Kraft Cardstock to create the card layers. I die cut the heart shape from Canson watercolor paper and used the ink smooshing technique with Aged Mahogany, Brushed Corduroy, Gathered Twigs, and Ground Espresso Distress inks. I decided to try out the Distress Glaze and I really like it! It makes the ink smooshing look more dimensional. It also makes the inked areas look more glossy! I distressed the edges of all the pieces with Vintage Photo Distress ink. I stamped the “You Auto be my Valentine” sentiment with Aged Mahogany Distress ink. To finish the card I used red gems for embellishment.
On the inside of the card I stamped the “I Love You From Head to Tow” sentiment with Aged Mahogany Distress ink.
