KS March 2021 Release – Galactic Sidekicks

Thanks for stopping by my blog! It’s the last day of the Kindred Stamps Release Week for March 2021. Today, I am sharing a sneak peek of the brand new Galactic Sidekicks stamp set. This set and the rest of the release will be available on Friday, March 26th at 8 AM PST. Check it out here!
For this release, I made six Galactic Sidekicks projects that are out of this world! I colored the characters with my Copic Sketch alcohol markers. The colors I used are listed at the end of this blog post. For more details on these fun projects keep reading below!
Project 1

My first two cards are space soldier and love themed. For this first card I used the Hearts stencil and Charcoal Distress ink to create the hearts background onto gray cardstock. I used rounded stitched rectangle dies to cut some panels to look like open bay doors. I used the Digital Noise and red ink to create the gun blasting look in the panel windows. Next, I heat embossed the ‘pew’s onto the card front and the sentiment onto the red sentiment strip with white embossing power. I attached the soldiers to the card front with foam tape. To finish this card, I added red, gray, and black sequins.

Project 2

My second card is much simpler than the first design, but it still coordinates! I trimmed red and black cardstock to create the matted layers. Next, I used the Digital Noise stencil and red ink to create the textured background on the heart shaped die cut. Finally, I heat embossed the sentiment onto the card front with white embossing powder and attached to the card front with foam adhesive.

Project 3

For my third card I wanted to showcase some brighter colors. First, I ink blended with the Flash stencil and distress inks to create the subtle design on the card front. Next, I used my Circuit Explore Air 2 to cut out the birthday candles from two shades of yellow cardstock and galaxy-themed cardstock. After that, I heat embossed the sentiment onto a thin black sentiment strip using white embossing powder. I die cut the stars from the same galaxy-themed paper as the candles using the Card Builder Basics die set. I attached the character to the card front using foam tape. Finally, I added some clear sequins for a little bit of extra sparkle!
Project 4

For my fourth card, I wanted it to look like the characters were in a space ship looking out the window into space. I used double stitched rounded rectangle dies to create the window and gray window frame. I added acetate in front of the galaxy paper to try to add some window reflection. I used the Grate Stencil (retired) to create the spaceship flooring.

Project 5

For my last card, I wanted to feature the droid images. I used the Circuits stencil and a distressed edges die to create the card front. I used distress ink to create the ink splatter effect and to distress the edges of both of the layers. I used a blue embossing powder and a red embossing powder to heat embossing the “beep” and “boop” sentiments onto the card front. I attached the characters and gold sequins to the card with some liquid adhesive.
Project 6

For my last project I created this super tiny tag that coordinates with the forest scavenger. I used the Moon & Stars stencil, the Forest stencil, and Distress ink to create the forest themed background on to the tag. I also used the ink to distress the edges of the tag to give it more of an earthy feel. To finish the tag I attached the character with some foam tape.
